Welcome!
E Komo Mai, welcome to the 2014 First Lego League (FLL). Our robotics season kicked off on July 22nd and "Da Braniacz" have been hard at work thinking of robot designs and project ideas. During practices, there's a lot going on but we can all agree that "We Have Fun!!"
The FIRST LEGO League was designed for children ages 9 – 14. The purpose of FLL is to stimulate students’ thinking through a robotics competition, and to create a passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The theme for this year’s challenge is “World Class”. Students are challenged to redesign how we gather knowledge and skills in the 21st century. Teams will teach others about the ways that kids need and want to learn. The Hawaii FLL kickoff was on September 6th at Punahou School. Thank you to Tierra and Lauren for representing our team. During the event, they learned how to design and use a jig to place our robots, the importance using sensors on our robot for consistency, and was inspired about the future of learning by Keynote speaker, Mr. Doug Kiang. |
